Baby Berry Smoothie

I am the proud mother of a very picky one-year-old. Fruit, in particular, is one of our regular battles. She hates the texture of it, but will slurp it down in baby food form. When I saw her trying to get after my husband’s lemonberry slush, a thought hit me: if I can’t get her to eat the fruit, I bet I can get her to drink it. And because every store-made smoothie out there is loaded down with sugar and food dye, I struck out on my own to make one I felt comfortable with her slurping down.
Good news: my experiment worked, especially when paired with a straw so that her drink looks like daddy’s drink.
Here’s how you do it:
Ingredients:
3-4 strawberries
1/4 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup natural vanilla flavored yogurt (we use Chobani Greek vanilla)
5 ice cubes, crushed
Directions:
Dump it all in a blender and puree. Serve with a straw.
It will make a little more than your child will probably drink. Go ahead and slurp down the rest, I won’t tell.
